FWOOSH!
Three Minutes To Hero
For months he sat forgotten on the top shelf, behind a jar of something nobody remembered buying. Then at 3:00am a bleary chart-watcher grabbed him, peeled his lid and poured in a screaming kettle. The timer ticked, steam exploded, and at minute three he burst out with noodle arms, a blue cape and an opinion about everything.
Chart dumped. Kettle on. Captain inbound.
Captain Slurp
TSSSS!
The Soggy Menace
Then disaster of the mild kind: his chart-watcher fell asleep face-first on the keyboard. Minute five became minute twelve, and Slurp felt it creeping in, the dreaded softness of the Soggy. Every second of waiting made his noodle arms droop a little lower.
SHLUP!
Al Dente Forever
Slurp refused to go limp. He flung one noodle arm across the desk, flicked the kettle back on, and let loose a slurp so loud it woke the whole flat. Now whenever someone stays up too late watching candles, the kettle whistles and the Captain arrives, firm and ready.
